Paul Echtekleff is the proud owner and hair stylist at Arboles Barber Shop & Beauty. This nostalgic little corner shop has a historic presence in the community and Paul has chosen to run his family’s shop and continue a strong family tradition.  The shop was formally known as Royal Oaks Barbershop.  He updated the name of the to reflect the proximity of location within the city of Thousand Oaks.

You may hear a slight east coast accent in his speech pattern but you'll be surprised to learn, his family emigrated from Eastern Europe to California, where he and his brothers attended school in Newbury Park, CA. The barber shop was originally opened by his parents 27 years ago, when Paul was in high school. Prior to following in his family's footsteps and getting into the hair business, he joined the United States Army and served to give something back to his country for all of the freedoms and opportunities that it provided for him and his family.

Well versed in precision cuts of all textures and lengths of hair, in trendy or classic styles, Paul has trained with both the Vidal Sassoon Academy and Tony and Guy and has over 17 years of salon experience.

His creativity and highly artistic skill set with color will showcase his continued color training with Redken; whether it’s high and low lighting for a beautiful dimensional color, corrective color,  ombre hair color or balayage highlights.

Paul specializes in hair straightening system (Japanese straightening), an anit-friz by Yuko (formaldayde-free smoothing treatment) and the Brazilian Blowout.  He will be able to offer expert advice on which method will be best suited to your needs.
